Adams Fairacre Farms has so many unique candy offerings, dating all the way back to the 1800’s! Join Annie Burda, Poughkeepsie Sweet Shop Manager, as she takes you for a trip down memory lane in our nostalgic candy section. It’ll bring back sweet memories!

Take a step back in time with some of the most iconic candies from past generations. From old-school treats to nostalgic favorites, these sweets have stood the test of time—sometimes with a few changes along the way.

In this video, we highlight a variety of classic candies you can still enjoy today:

• Turkish Taffy – A happy accident turned classic, originally created from a marshmallow recipe that didn’t go as planned.
• Hershey’s Bars (Original Style) – A throwback version that stays true to the original recipe many remember.
• Charleston Chew – Named after the famous dance craze, and even better when frozen and cracked into pieces.
• Candy Buttons – A favorite since the 1930s, with the fun of peeling them off paper sheets.
• Pixy Stix & Sweet Tarts – What started as powdered sugar in paper straws eventually led to the creation of compressed candy tablets.
• Pop Rocks – The fizzy candy from the 1970s, surrounded by myths but still just as fun to eat.
