Fertilizing Big Leaf Hydrangeas

Springtime is the time to fertilize your hydrangea plants. Because they are somewhat needy plants, Maureen Drury, Adams Town of Wallkill Houseplant and Nursery Manager, recommends using several types of fertilizer to give your hydrangeas the nutrients they need to flourish. Once you have fertilized your plants in the spring, you can then add in a liquid fertilizer biweekly during the summer for a little extra boost.
