Indian Masala Chai

Ingredients
Drink- 1 1/3 cup Water
- 2/3 cup Milk
- 1 inch Ginger, grated
- 3 tsp Tea leaves
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 2 Green cardamom
- 2 Cloves
- 1/2 inch Cinnamon stick
- 8 Black peppercorns
Instructions
- Heat water in a pot over medium-high heat.
- Meanwhile, crush spices using a mortar and pestle or a coffee/spice grinder. Or use 1/2 tsp prepared chai blend.
- Add the crushed spices and grated ginger to the water.
- Reduce heat to medium and bring to a boil.
- Add the tea leaves and sugar and let it boil for a minute.
- Stir in the milk and bring back to a boil.
- Once it’s boiling, turn off the heat and cover with a lid for one minute.
- Strain the tea into a cup.
