Perfect Ribeye Steak

Ingredients
- 2 Ribeye steaks, 1" thick
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- Steak seasoning or salt & pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp Butter or herbed butter
Instructions
Oven
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Add the steaks and cook until browned, about 2 minutes per side.
- Place the pan in the hot oven and roast 11-14 minutes or until steak reaches desired temperature, see notes below.
- Remove steaks from the oven and place on a plate. Top with a pat of butter, loosely tent with foil.
- Let steaks rest 5-10 minutes before serving.
Grill
- Preheat grill to medium heat.
- Grill 5-6 minutes per side for medium-rare or 6-7 minutes per side for medium.
- Remove steaks from the grill and place on a plate. Top with a pat of butter, loosely tent with foil.
- Let steaks rest 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Remove steaks from the heat 5° before the desired temperature as the temperature will continue to rise. The FDA recommends a minimum temperature of 145°F for red meat.
Cooking temperatures:
Rare: 125°F
Medium-Rare: 135°F
Medium: 145°F
Medium Well: 155°F
Well: 160°F
