Spicy Paloma Cocktail

  • 1 c Water
  • 1 Hot cherry pepper
  • 1 c Turbinado sugar
  • 1/3 c Agave nectar
  • 4 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 c Grapefruit juice
  • Bucket of ice


  1. Add water, muddled hot cherry pepper, sugar and agave in a small pot and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, strain and cool.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with fresh ice. Add tequila, grapefruit juice,  lime juice and 1 oz prepared hot cherry pepper simple syrup. Cover and shake vigorously.
  3. Serve in a tall glass over ice with a turbinado sugared rim.
