Spice Rubbed Tri-Tip Steak

Ingredients
- 2 Tri-tip steaks, about 1 1/2 - 2 pounds each
- 2 tbsp Ground ginger
- 2 tbsp Garlic powder
- 2 tbsp Onion powder
- 2 tbsp Ground cumin
- 2 tbsp Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp Ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp Light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Lime zest
Instructions
- Combine all of the spices in a large bowl.
- Dip each steak into the rub and evenly coat all sides. Refrigerate and let marinate for 1-3 hours.
- Preheat a grill until hot.
- Season steaks with coarse salt and grill over the open fire for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Continue cooking a few minutes per side until desired doneness is reached.
- Let the steaks rest 5-10 minutes before slicing against the grain into thin strips.
