Slow Cooker Cod Au Gratin


  • 6 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tbsp Dry mustard
  • 1/4 tbsp Ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3 lbs Cod fillets


  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour, salt, dry mustard, and nutmeg and mix well. Lightly simmer the mixture for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Slowly add the milk and stir continuously until the mixture thickens. Add the lemon juice and cheese and continue stirring until the cheese is melted.
  3. Place the fish in the bottom of a slow cooker and completely cover it in the cheese sauce.
  4. Cook on high for 1 1/2 hours, or until the fish flakes easily.
  5. Serve immediately.
