Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1 tbsp Cold water
  • 2 tsp Cornstarch
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups Pecans, chopped
  • 9 in Unbaked pie shell

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. In a saucepan, stir together the sugar, corn syrup, butter, water and cornstarch. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Gradually beat in syrup mixture. Stir in the salt, vanilla and pecans. Pour into pie shell.
  4. Bake for 45 – 50 minutes, until filling is set.
