Adams Continues to be Diligent During the Holidays & COVID

Poughkeepsie, New York,  November 24, 2020 – Adams continues to implement additional preventative measures for sanitation, hygiene, and social separation in the fight against COVID.

Adams is:

  • Using international building code guidelines for the holidays to cap their in-store occupancy at 50% during the holidays.
  • Recommending one person per family shop for their families (if possible).
  • Encouraging our customers to shop early – buying their non-perishable foods as soon as possible
  • Asking that you refer to the chart below to plan out your holiday shopping. The best time for maximum social distancing is 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟔𝐩𝐦. Reminder: we also have our 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫 daily from 𝟕𝐚𝐦-𝟖𝐚𝐦 for those that are 60+.Be safe, and please know that our employees and customers are our #1 priority.Adams Shopping Patterns

Adams Employee in Poughkeepsie Tests Positive for COVID-19

Poughkeepsie, New York, April 29, 2020 – An Adams employee at the company’s Poughkeepsie store has tested positive for COVID-19. Adams continues to work with and follow the guidance of the CDC, state and local health officials to implement enhanced cleaning and sanitizing in all stores.

Adams continues to implement additional preventative measures for sanitation, hygiene, and social separation and are in contact with Dutchess County Health Department.


Adams Employee in Wappinger Tests Positive for COVID-19

Poughkeepsie, New York, April 22, 2020 – An Adams employee at the company’s Wappinger store in the seafood department has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee contracted the virus from a family member. Adams continues to work with and follow the guidance of the CDC, state and local health officials to implement enhanced cleaning and sanitizing in all stores. Adams seafood department is scheduled to reopen on or about May 2.

Adams continues to implement additional preventative measures for sanitation, hygiene, and social separation and are in contact with Dutchess County Health Department.


Adams Employee in Kingston Tests Positive for COVID-19

Poughkeepsie, New York, April 8, 2020 – An Adams employee at the company’s Kingston store has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee contracted the virus from a family member. Adams continues to work with and follow the guidance of the CDC, state and local health officials to implement enhanced cleaning and sanitizing in all stores.

Adams continues to implement additional preventative measures for sanitation, hygiene, and social separation and are in contact with Ulster County Health Department.


Adams Employees in Newburgh Tests Positive for COVID-19

Poughkeepsie, New York,  April 6, 2020 –
An Adams employee at the company’s Newburgh store has tested positive for COVID-19. This is the second employee in the Newburgh store to test positive. The first employee to test positive was identified in March, but had not been in the Newburgh store location for an acceptable amount of time prior to the diagnosis and was not deemed a threat to others according to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and other public health agencies.

The 2nd Adams employee determined they had contracted COVID-19 from a family member that tested positive earlier that week. No other details about the employee or when he or she worked were released.

“Our thoughts are with our team member and their family at this time,” said Steve Adams. “Adams is doing everything it can to protect all of our employees and customers,” he said. “Prior to any positive cases in our stores, we worked with and followed the guidance of the CDC, state and local health officials to implement enhanced cleaning and sanitizing at all our stores.”

Adams stores continue to implement additional preventative measures for sanitation, hygiene, and social separation and are in contact with the Orange County Health Department.
