Harvesting & Storing Sweet Marjoram

Harvesting:
Pick fresh leaves as needed, beginning about 4-6 weeks after planting.

Harvest again later in the season when the flower buds reappear.

Drying & Storing:
When ready to dry, pick the leaves just after flower buds appear but before they open, removing no more than a third of the plant’s leaves in a single harvest. (The buds are edible as well). See How to Dry Herbs. Once the leaves have dried, strip them from the stem. Dried marjoram delivers flavor nearly equal to the fresh.
