How to Grow Marjoram

Plant Sweet Marjoram in the spring, once danger of frost has passed, in full sun, in rich, well-drained soil. Fertilize when planting and throughout the growing season. Marjoram is a fast-growing plant and will produce a steady supply of new growth if it is trimmed back regularly.

Sweet Marjoram is not hardy to our area, so plants may be brought indoors after it turns cold. Or propagate from stem cuttings (it’s easy to do) which grow beautifully indoors in a sunny, south-facing window.
