Growing Oregano

Oregano is best planted in full sun in moist well-drained soil, 12-18 inches apart. Plants like low humidity and well circulated air. Do not allow the roots to sit in water. Most varieties are hardy to
zone 5.

When grown as a ground cover it forms a mat-like carpet. Oregano also does very well in containers.

Using fertilizer can weaken the flavor.

Oregano can be grown by seed, division or cuttings. Dividing the plants when the center had died off helps to prevent your plants from getting too woody.
